[Book Review] The durable slum : Dharavi and the right to stay put in globalizing Mumbai, by Liza Weinstein

Abstract

“The durable slum” reads like a fascinating story, the story of a “sparsely populated fishing village” which developed as the “largest slum in Asia”—as it is frequently referred to—, the compelling narrative of a mega-slum which has resisted grand plans for its redevelopment. But it is much more than that.
